In exactly a month, Big Finish sound designer Jamie Robertson will be amongst 25,000 people cycling in the very first RIDELONDON, arranged by the same people who do the London marathon - and he'd be very grateful if you could sponsor him in aid of Alzheimers UK.
Jamie says: 'This is for cyclists who want to ride the same route as people like Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish of the racing world of cycling.
'I'm raising money for charity on August 4th, 102 miles all the way to Surrey and back, starting at Olympic Park, to Surrey up to Box Hill and Leith Hill, then back to London and through the streets to The Mall and finish at Buckingham Palace. So far, due to busy production schedules I've managed to get to 70 miles in training.
'I'm not doing this for myself. I'm doing it for my chosen charity, Alzheimers UK. My Dad has Parkinson's and Lewy Dementia. Every week we see him deteriorate and it can put a lot of stress on family and the closest loved ones - often the people who end up being a carer for him and people like him.
'I need to raise a minimum of £750 for the ride; raising this will help research into dementia, or provide a few hours or time with carers to help people like my Mum, who has to look after him each day. Over the past decade he gradually has got worse and there's nothing really we can do apart from give love and support as always.
'But here I can make a real difference. We set off between 6am and 8:30am and it has to be completed within nine hours. I would like people to support me on the day, and please please please donate in aid of Alzheimers UK. We are all touched by dementia in our lives in some form or other; let's keep the continued support into research and aim to break the ongoing problem of dementia and Alzheimers. Please share my page with as many people as possible.
'There is a lot of training involved and I'll also be making a small documentary showing my weight loss covering this massive effort that is needed to complete this course. It's not as easy as you may think! Some days I'm doing four hours of training as well as fitting in working life, etc... I've also lost over two and a half stone in two months; lots since Big Finish Day.
'Here is how to sponsor me: the secure website for sponsoring and donating is http://www.justgiving.com/jamiecomposer2
'Or text a donation: simply send the message JRDW50 with the amount £5, for example, to the number 70070.
Do please help Jamie if you can.
We head into the weekend with another interview from the incredibly busy Toby Hadoke, who goes to the pub with a Doctor Who actor. Yes, it's a tough life, tracking down someone attached to every Doctor Who story as part of the 50th Anniversary...
