Everyone's Just So So Special (published by Big Finish) won Best Collection at the British Fantasy Awards on Sunday, presented at the Albion Hotel in Brighton as part of the British Fantasy Convention. The shortlist was determined by votes from the members of the society, and the winner chosen by a jury of professionals, and the awards are truly international - other recipients were from Australia, Canada, the US and Chile.
Everyone's Just So So Special is Rob's third collection, and the third, too, to receive a major award. Tiny Deaths won the World Fantasy Award, and Love Songs for the Shy and Cynical, also from Big Finish, won the Shirley Jackson Award, the Edge Hill Readers Prize and the British Fantasy Award.
Rob is delighted, flabbergasted, and a little peckish. But then, he's always a little peckish.
He travels to Toronto in a few weeks to attend the World Fantasy Awards, where he has a nomination for best novella. Fingers crossed for him!
