Recording is complete on Doctor Who: The Fifth Doctor Box Set, which comprises two full cast audio stories reuniting Peter Davison with his 1982 TARDIS team of Matthew Waterhouse, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding.
“This is Matthew’s long-awaited return to the role of Adric,” says producer David Richardson, “and it’s definitely been worth the wait. We’ve devised two thrilling, and at times thought-provoking, stories that would fit perfectly among the best of Season 19 tales.”
The first story is Psychodrome by Jonathan Morris, which is set immediately after the events of the TV story Castrovalva and finds the Doctor and his companions starting to get to know each other.
“Psychodrome is a character piece,” says David, “and one that explores this TARDIS team in a way the TV series of the time was never able to.”
The second adventure is Iterations of I by John Dorney, which is set in a remote research centre in Ireland. The cast includes Sinead Keenan (Being Human) as Aoife.
“This is a scary story,” says David. “A really original, vibrant piece that will send chills down your spine. When John presented me with the outline forIterations of I, I thought it was brilliant and unique. And it’s since become one of my favourite ever Doctor Who tales – you have a treat in store!”
Doctor Who: The Fifth Doctor Box Set is released in August 2014.
