'When we started Confessions, back in 2012, we never expected to get even a second series,' confesses Scott, 'so it’s been a real thrill to build upon those foundations year after year, and now to conclude the story. We’re extremely proud of all the work everyone’s put into it over the years, and promise series five will deliver everything our listeners have come to expect from us.'

Returning for the finale are a whole host of familiar faces from Dorian’s past, including Bernard Holley, David Blackwell and Tracey Childs. Hugh Skinner (Poldark, W1A, The Windsors) - best known to listeners as Dorian’s vampiric lover, Tobias Matthews - also puts in an appearance following the traumatic events of December’s festive release, The Confessions of Dorian Gray: The Spirits of Christmas.

'We were very lucky to get such brilliant actors along the way,' continues Scott, 'and then we were even more lucky when all of them wanted to return to say goodbye. Everyone has their role to play in the final story, and it’s a thrill to hear them back in studio with Alex, and to be surrounded by a band of friends as we bid farewell.'

'I don’t want to give anything away about how we end things, and I can’t pretend it was easy bringing things to a close. In fact, there’s an entirely different script out there that I threw out for playing it too safe! But we wrap up a few loose ends and drive the story forward before we go our separate ways… Here’s hoping it surprises our audience in the very best of ways!'
