Doctor Who fans were treated to some big surprises today, as the Time Lord Victorious panel at New York Comic Con X MCM Comic Con Metaverse revealed a first look for the hotly-anticipated Daleks! animation and announced 12th November as the launch date for episode one.

Daleks! is a 5x10 min animation which features a star-studded voiceover cast with Nicholas Briggs (voice of the Daleks in Doctor Who) Joe Sugg (YouTube, Strictly Come Dancing), Anjli Mohindra (Bodyguard, The Sarah Jane Adventure) and Ayesha Antoine (Holby City).

Daleks! sees the Dalek Empire come up against a terrible force. The Daleks, the most feared race in the universe, finally meet their match when they invade the fabled Archive of Islos. What ancient and deadly force lurks inside the greatest library in existence? Soon their home planet Skaro is under attack and the Dalek Emperor is on the run. Can the Daleks defeat their opponent and regain their planet, even with help from an old enemy? Or will this be the end of the Daleks?

The Daleks! first look and trailer give fans a glimpse of what’s to come, and introduces the Mechonoids, a robotic alien species from the planet Mechanus and arch-enemies of the Daleks.

Returning to live-action Doctor Who for the first time since The Chase in 1965, the Mechonoids have been remodelled for the 21st Century, and form an uneasy alliance with their old foes.

Queen of the Mechonoids is voiced by Anjli Mohindra and The Chief Archivian and Mechonoid 2150 are voiced by Ayesha Antoine.

The first episode of Daleks! will premiere exclusively on the Doctor Who YouTube channel from Thursday 12th November and is free for fans to enjoy.
