The Doctor Faces the Emancipation of the Daleks!
The Daleks have conquered the Earth in the explosive third audiobook from the Doctor Who — The Audio Novels range, due for release in July 2022.
The Twelfth Doctor’s friend, Bill Potts, has history with the Daleks... and a future too, apparently, as she takes centre stage in the latest full-length audio novel from Big Finish Productions.
Dan Starkey narrates this seven-hour enhanced audiobook written by Jonathan Morris, featuring specially composed music, immersive sound effects, and a guest appearance from Nicholas Briggs voicing the Daleks.
Doctor Who – The Audio Novels: Emancipation of the Daleks is now available to pre-order as a digital download (for just £17.99), exclusively here.
Bill Potts has an unexpected visitor: another Bill Potts from twenty years in the future. Bill summons the Doctor, who confirms that the other Bill is the genuine article. She has come to see her younger self for a reason... but she can’t say what it is without creating a paradox!
Moments later, the TARDIS Cloister Bell sounds. A damaged Dalek war saucer is travelling back through the time vortex on a collision course. The Doctor dematerializes the TARDIS to avoid it, only to cause the spaceship to crash-land in Earth’s recent past. When it re-materializes, the TARDIS is now in a world altered beyond recognition. The city of Bristol has been reduced to rubble, save for an interstellar rocket construction site and a top-security research complex. The complex is guarded by ‘Robomen’ and flying security drones piloted by Dalek mutants.
The Doctor quickly realizes what has happened. History has been changed, and the Daleks have conquered the Earth, enslaving the human race.
He couldn’t be more wrong. And Bill is about to discover that her past, present and future are no longer her own.
Producer David Richardson said: “Series ten just got bigger – welcome to a timey-wimey journey through a disastrous future for Bill Potts, in which she meets herself and discovers a world changed by the Daleks.
“Jonny’s script was a page turner, and Dan’s reading is glorious – accompanied by Dalek maestro Nicholas Briggs, of course. With full FX and score, this is going to be a thrilling treat for the ears.”
Praise for Doctor Who – The Audio Novels: Watchers
“Watchers is a fascinating second installment in the Audio Novels as a range, telling a story that feels necessary to be told in this format. It flows from scene to scene incredibly well and is narrated wonderfully. Nearly perfect.”
Indie Mac User
“A textbook demonstration of why this range works. This isn’t just a good audiobook, it’s a roadmap to one of the best ways to produce Doctor Who tie-in fiction of any sort.”
“From the strong prose to the strong narration, everything about this story is enjoyable.”
