The Hour of the Cybermen is now!

The Hour of the Cybermen is now!

12 July 2018

The 1980s Cybermen return today in the latest adventure from the Doctor Who Main Range. The Sixth Doctor and UNIT must work together to stop them, but UNIT are wary since their last encounter with the Doctor...

Following on from the events of The Helliax Rift (from the Doctor Who Main Range released in April), the Sixth Doctor meets the UNIT team and together they must defeat the 1980s Cybermen.

David Banks returns as the voice of the Cyber Leader and Mark Hardy plays the Cyber Lieutenant. Joining Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, Blake Harrison as Daniel Hopkins and Russ Bain as Lewis Price, Wayne Forester plays Captain Weaver and Frog Stone plays Riva.

Answering a call from UNIT, the Doctor arrives in London to find the streets deserted apart from looters in possession of a valuable commodity – water.

Britain is suffering an extreme and bizarre drought. The cause is suspected to be extra-terrestrial. The discovery of a signal being transmitted into space, and of a spacecraft whose crew are desiccated corpses, provides a possible answer. But the true enemy is an old foe of the Doctor’s.

The Cybermen have been patient, setting their plans in place over a number of years. As the final stage is implemented, in the darkest hour, the Doctor must identify who among his allies he can trust.

Hour of the Cybermen is available now at £14.99 on CD or £12.99 on download. All CD purchases unlock a download option via the Big Finish app and the Big Finish website.

Or you can save money by getting a subscription to the Doctor Who Main Range. When you subscribe you'll get 30% off the price, free specially recorded Short Trips stories, PDFs of the scripts, and extended downloadable extras. You can subscribe for either 6 or 12 releases.

Coming next in the Doctor Who Main Range, Red Planets finds the Seventh Doctor starting a trilogy of adventures with Mel (Bonnie Langford) and Ace (Sophie Aldred).

London, 2017. Except... it isn't. Berlin, 1961. But it isn't that either. Not really. Not in the timeline the Doctor knows. Something is very wrong.

While Ace tries to save the life of a wounded British spy, Mel and the Doctor must get to grips with the modern day socialist Republic of Mokoshia. For Mel it feels strangely familiar and 'right', which makes the Doctor feel even more uneasy.

Soon, a message from a dark and blood-soaked distant future is on its way... But the Doctor will have to act fast to stop this timeline becoming reality.

And with Ace stranded in an alternate 1961, will saving the Earth end her existence?
