In order to celebrate 20 years of Big Finish this year, we would like to showcase one of our talented fans in gratitude to the many listeners who have supported us over the years. We hope you’ve enjoyed listening to Big Finish productions as much as we have enjoyed making them.

One of the things that we’ve really enjoyed seeing this year is the fan art, videos and cosplay that everyone has made. Big Finish started with passionate fans – and to celebrate that, we’ve created this opportunity to showcase the talents of the listeners.

For the September issue of Vortex, the free magazine given away with every purchase, we’re looking for a design for the back cover of the magazine – artwork, drawings and/or pictures – but not photo manipulations. We’re looking for artwork which features your favourite Big Finish character, story, moment – or even a selection of them!

For guidance, the competition rules are:

1. This opportunity is active from 2nd July 2018, and closes at 23:59 on July 31st 2018.
    
2. All entries must be submitted electronically as a PDF, emailed to competitions@bigfinish.com. Please keep any PSD copies you are using for any edits.
    
3. The artwork must be presented to work within the Vortex cover template supplied (a PSD or PDF copy of it can be downloaded here https://app.box.com/s/uyh9qftf3fye89zm5lfkphq2m3s4f1sb or requested from enquiries@bigfinish.com). For reference, the Vortex cover size is 154mm wide by 216mm tall at 300dpi.
    
4. The artwork should be sent to competitions@bigfinish.com with the subject 'Vortex Competition' with the artist’s name and a contact email address.
    
5. The artwork can feature any character, or creatures from the Big Finish catalogue. Please note that approval will need to be given on the entry from the character’s originator where applicable, and the BBC have to approve any content that features a Doctor Who character. Should there be unforeseen issues with the work, the winning artist will be invited to submit a new piece of artwork.
    
6. The winner will be informed in mid-August and their artwork will feature as the back cover of the September 2018 edition of Vortex (#115), celebrating the 20th anniversary of Big Finish. Our anniversary month sees the releases of Bernice Summerfield – The Story So Far, Shilling & Sixpence Investigate, The Diary of River Song Series Four, The Seventh Doctor, Mel and Ace in the Main Range, and the return of the Daleks in Doctor Who – The Early Adventures.
    
7. Please note that no correspondence can be entered into, nor should the submission email cover your background or previous artwork – the submission should speak for itself.
    
8. Anyone who has never been commissioned to produce artwork for Big Finish is eligible to submit an entry.
    
9. Only one entry is permitted per person.
    
10. As Vortex is a free magazine, this is an unpaid opportunity.
