The Twelfth Doctor vs the Dalek Eternal!

New ReleasesDoctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor Adventures

In the opening episode of the audio drama miniseries The Twelfth Doctor Adventures: Run Fast, Be Kind, the Twelfth Doctor (Jon Culshaw) was taking some time out at the end of the universe, on the wastelands of Kersarin, when he became mixed up in a dangerous mission with his new friend, the wandering bard Ashlorn Wilton (Gwithian Evans).

Now, the sixth and final episode of the series, The Second Death of the Daleks, returns to that first adventure, except there’s a significant difference – the Eternal Dalek (Nicholas Briggs) has entered the fray!

This mysterious yellow Dalek, first seen in 2010 Doctor Who episode Victory of the Daleks, and more recently defeated by the Eleventh Doctor in The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Victory of the Doctor, has lived a very, very long life. As it meddles in the Doctor’s recent past, the Time Lord will discover the secret to its longevity…

Doctor Who – The Twelfth Doctor Adventures: The Second Death of the Daleks is available to download now for purchasers of the Run Fast, Be Kind six-episode series bundle, which is available for just £43.99, exclusively here. Customers also gain access to the complete box set of all six episodes as a single download to own.

During the last days of history, a lone wanderer crosses the wastes of Kersarin. Everywhere he goes, he delights those he finds with stories and songs. He provides a little hope in the dark.

His name is Ash Wilton, and I swear we’ve done this episode before. We definitely killed that Dalek.

The guest cast of The Second Death of the Daleks includes Clare Bloomer as Breen/Computer, Peter Dukes as Kris, and Robert Whitelock as Alan/Craig.

Writer and producer Alfie Shaw said: “There’s this brilliant detective show called Psych, and in the final season, they did a reboot episode of a story from the first season, where they change the killer. I wanted to do something different to the other Dalek stories I’ve written, so suggested we tried something similar to that Psych episode. You add a shouty killer tank into any story and it quickly twists the narrative in new directions!

There’s only one Dalek in this, and the story is more about what a Dalek is than how many people it can kill. As the planning continued, it became clear that the Dalek that survived to the end of the universe should be the Eternal. This unlocked the whole plot, and you don’t have to have listened to its last appearance in Victory of the Doctor to make sense of, and enjoy, this one.”

Lead actor Jon Culshaw added: “The script is a beauty, it’s a wonderful, fresh take on the idea of the Daleks. It’s almost like the Daleks have their own Omega now, beyond even Davros, some entity which has lived through deep, deep time. It’s an intriguing place to go, and the script serves up these ideas and themes in that lovely way that Doctor Who really makes you think.”

The complete six-episode series Doctor Who – The Twelfth Doctor Adventures: Run Fast, Be Kind is now available to purchase for just £43.99, exclusively from www.bigfinish.com.

All the above prices (including pre-order and multibuy bundle discounts) are fixed for a limited time only and guaranteed no later than 31 August 2026.
