What is the Causeway?
Producer David Richardson explains: "The Eighth Doctor has been following a scent for some time, although listeners may not even have noticed. The word 'Causeway' has been seeded throughout his adventures with Charley and Audacity, and now their destination is the Causeway itself... Worlds will collide, and for one of the TARDIS team, life will never be the same again."
For Paul McGann and India Fisher, this box set marks a notable anniversary, as it's now 25 years since the Eighth Doctor and Charley's audio debut, Storm Warning, which was recorded in May 2000 and released January 2001.
Fisher said: "25 years of Charlotte Pollard, and yet she's still 18 running around fighting aliens! It still feels as fresh and alive. The scripts are always so exciting, and it's really lovely to go off on another adventure with Charley.
"This run with Audacity has really brought Charley on again, and she feels as though she's growing in her relationship with the Doctor. I suppose another companion coming along has changed things too; there's another strong female. You might think that two alpha female personalities wouldn't really work but actually it does - and it works brilliantly. The poor Doctor gets a bit of a hard time, but he can hold his own!
"And I really love working with Paul and Jaye. Jaye and I hit it off from the moment we sat down together, and so I'm always really thrilled when I see the name Audacity in any script. I know I'm going to have a few days of fun!"
On the new stories in this box set, Jaye Griffiths said: "Charley, the Doc and Dassy are not people for sitting on a beach reading a rom-com. They're out for adventures. And adventures mean you take risks and sometimes you fall flat. But there's always the three of them to pick each other up! "The Time You Never Had is the story of division and diversion, and what happens if one version of your reality meets another. The universe splits and parallel universes happen. And there are consequences. It's one of the sweetest stories I've ever been involved with. It is so lovely."
