The Eleventh Doctor goes Into the Shadows

The audio adventures of the Eleventh Doctor (Miles Taylor) and his companion Eleanor Fong (Hijack and Casualty star Jasmine Bayes) will continue in January, with the release of the box set Into the Shadows.

Set between series six and seven of Doctor Who, this volume comprises three brand-new action-packed episodes. The time travellers will get trapped on a sinking convict ship, encounter an ordinary man who has been mistaken for the Last of the Time Lords, and investigate a spiritual leader with a dark secret.

But their enemy isn’t the only one with something to hide. The Doctor and Eleanor have kept secrets from each other, and this trio of stories will test how much the new TARDIS team can really trust each other…

Doctor Who – The Eleventh Doctor Adventures: Into the Shadows is now available to pre-order for just £19.99 (download to own) or £29.99 (download to own + collector’s edition CD box set), exclusively here. Please note: the collector’s edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1,500 copies and will not be re-pressed.

Still intent on keeping a low profile, the Doctor attempts to fulfil Eleanor Fong’s wish to return to Hong Kong in 1990, for some ‘normal’.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, things go wrong, and they find themselves trapped on a crashing, sinking spaceship, caught up in a despotic ex-president’s fiendish attempt to regain power, and coming face-to-face with a plan to bend reality.

The new adventures for the Eleventh Doctor and Eleanor are:

Prisoners of the Deep by Alan Ronald
Johnny Jeffries is the Doctor! by Joshua Scales
The Slithers of Doubt by Joshua Scales

The box set’s guest cast includes Charlotte Beaumont (Broadchurch), making her Big Finish debut, plus Mark Elstob (Big Finish’s The Prisoner series) and Christopher Naylor (The Fourth Doctor Adventures). Plus, the first episode, Prisoners of the Deep, has a guest cast made up of recent graduates from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Full cast and story details will be revealed at a later date.

Director and script editor Nicholas Briggs said: “It was so lovely to be back working with Miles and Jasmine once again as the Doctor and Eleanor. This time, our mission was ultimately to find out why Eleanor’s cry of ‘Make it stop!’ to the universe had been so powerful that it reached the Doctor. But we build to that in the third story, The Slithers of Doubt.

“One of the most exciting aspects in the planning of this box set was working with brand new Big Finish writer Joshua Scales, who is displaying a great flair for gripping storytelling and brilliant dialogue. We also teamed up with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, giving some seriously talented young graduate actors their first professional roles in Al Ronald’s terrifying underwater adventure, Prisoners of the Deep. I very much feel we’ve upped the ante with an even better set of stories this time!”
