An unavoidable delay pushes Dark Shadows - The Darkest Shadow into July, but a sneaked 13 minutes of audio can now be heard...
Big Finish are sorry to announce that the next Dark Shadows drama, The Darkest Shadow, will now not be released until early to mid July.
“The story reunites David Selby and Donna McKechnie as Quentin and Amanda for the first time in over forty years,” says producer Joseph Lidster. “And we really felt it was important to record the two of them together, for such a special occasion and such an ambitious script, which meant waiting a few months until we could synchronise their schedules. Also, this being a double-disc story - for the price of a single disc release - has obviously meant a lot more work at every stage of production. We’re very sorry for the delay but confident that people will find The Darkest Shadow worth the wait!”
To whet people’s appetites, the first 13 minutes of the story are now available to listen to, free, on our Soundcloud page here.
The Darkest Shadow is written by Nev Fountain, writer of the award-winning The Eternal Actress. The story sees actress Amanda Harris being cast in a feature film that seems to be based on her own life and on the events that took place in the mysterious house of Collinwood over fifty years before. Guest stars include Blakes 7’s Jan Chappel, Family Guy’s Wally Wingert and Alexander Vlahos as the immortal Dorian Gray.
Dark Shadows (1966 - 1971) was a US TV series which told the story of the cursed Collins family. Set in the town of Collinsport, it featured witches, vampires, werewolves and warlocks plotting and scheming against each other. It was recently remade as a film starring Johnny Depp.
