Rebecca Root

Rebecca Root played Tania Bell, Doctor Who’s first transgender companion, in the Big Finish audio drama series The Eighth Doctor Adventures: Stranded from 2020 to 2022. She has since continued Tania’s story in other ranges, The Ninth Doctor Adventures and The Audio Novels. Outside of Who, she is known for her leading role in the BBC sitcom Boy Meets Girl, as well as appearances in the TV series The Queen’s Gambit, Heartstopper, and Monsieur Spade.
