For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

Two amazing audio adventures are in store for the splendid Sixth Doctor (Colin Baker) and his companion Peri Brown (Nicola Bryant) in today’s new box set release Bad Terms – and each is a feature-length epic!

The set begins with a swashbuckler of a tale – in the 18th century, the time travellers meet Irish pirate queen Saoirse O’Grady (Rebecca O'Mara, known for Line of Duty and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice). Threatening to sink her is naval officer Sir Kenneth Rushworth (Gareth David-Lloyd, fresh from his Big Finish audio adventures as Torchwood’s Ianto Jones and making his Doctor Who debut here) – not to mention the alien interlopers!

Then, in the second story, a jump forward in time takes the Doctor and Peri to that most dangerous of places – an English public school. Undercover as teachers, they discover a strange extraterrestrial scheme, and a surprising connection to the Doctor’s past.

Doctor Who – The Sixth Doctor Adventures: Bad Terms is available to purchase now for just £19.99 (download to own) or £24.99 (download to own + collector’s edition CD) exclusively here. Please note: the collector’s edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1,500 copies and will not be repressed.

The two brand-new 90-minute adventures for the Doctor and Peri are:

Saiorse of the Seven Seas by Nina Millns

Saoirse O’Grady, Queen of the Irish Sea, teams up with the brave Captain Peri (and her lowly second-in-command, the Doctor) to fight for justice for her people and her homeland. But her English foe, Sir Kenneth Rushworth, doesn’t just have the law on his side – he has allies not of this Earth. Allies who have a very particular interest in Saoirse…

Red for Danger! by Nev Fountain

New teachers Dr Pretorius (History) and Professor Brown (Biology) find a lot to alarm them at one of the most menacing places they’ve ever visited – a traditional English public school. Finding aliens among both staff and pupils, can they solve the mystery of Malcolm – a boy whose connection to the Doctor is closer than the Time Lord could ever imagine…?

The cast of Saiorse of the Seven Seas also includes Barnaby Edwards as Xeneroth, Amanda Shodeko as Adria, Laurie Kynaston as Smirton, Tom Haywood as His Utmost Eminence, and Ayesha Antoine as Lookout/Pirate.

And, Red for Danger! features Charlie Hamblett as Malcolm Travers, Andre James as Reggie Biggs, Akshay Khanna as Darius Strangerman, Jason Forbes as Forbes Minor, David Holt as The Headmaster/Andigor Birch, and Martin Kor as Doctor Drylake.

Colin Baker said: “I do enjoy the historical stories! And I was amazed to discover that Saoirse is not real – I believed her totally, and that’s a tribute to Rebecca, who’s made her very, very real.”

Nicola Bryant added: “It’s great for Doctor Who to head off to the seas with our fake history. It’s wonderful to get that pirate feel, all the joy and the fun, and for Peri to have a sense briefly of feeling like she’s the captain. Of course, she was a queen of a planet, but it’s nice for her to exercise this back on Earth!”

And guest star Gareth David-Lloyd said: “This is my first Doctor Who Big Finish! It was great fun for me and a lovely change from playing Ianto Jones. It was especially lovely working with Colin’s larger-than-life doctor – my character is quite shouty and brash as well, so that was lots of fun.”
