The full-cast audio drama series based on ITV cult classic Sky continues today with the release of brand-new box set Into the Chaos.
The spooky 1975 children’s TV series Sky, created by Doctor Who writers Bob Baker and Dave Martin, followed the titular time-travelling alien stuck on Earth. Sky befriended a group of kids, who helped them fight the mysterious Goodchild and return home.
Fifty years later, Sky’s adventures continue in a full-cast audio drama series from Big Finish Productions, which began in 2025 with Before the Chaos. In this box set, Sky (voiced by Cloud Quinn) returned to Earth and reunited with old friend Arby (Edwin Flay), only for nature to retaliate against Sky’s presence by enveloping the planet in a calyx of foliage.
Now, in the three brand-new episodes that comprise the second box set Into the Chaos, Sky, Arby and their new friends must do whatever they can to save Earth – even if that means contacting Sky’s own people.
Sky: Into the Chaos is now available to purchase as a digital download to own for just £19.99, exclusively here.
This box set comprises three episodes, all scripted by Gary Hopkins:
The Confluence
Arby and Jack are lost in the Juganet. Bex and Kyle take Sky to meet an old friend. Jane Briggs and her grief counsellor go through many weeks of sessions about Roy’s death until the Juganet reunites them with the others but six months in Jane’s future. But is everything, and everyone, quite what they seem?
The Place of Darkness
Another trip through the Juganet sees the Briggs family forced to confront their past while Arby and Cerys confront a twisted future. Who or what is the Skygod, and why does it demand tribune? And what is Kyle Brannock wearing on his head?
This Far and No Further
The Calyx has almost destroyed Earth and Sky is forced to do the one thing he dreads – he brings his own people to the planet to ask for help. But the Travellers have helped Earth in the past and are not very inclined to give this failed world yet another chance.
The guest cast of Sky: Into the Chaos includes Jessica Hayles as Bex Briggs, Samuel Morgan-Davies as Kyle Brannock, Conrad Westmaas as Jack Diver, Helen Bang as Jane Briggs, Caitlin Griffiths as Cerys Morgan, Marcus Hutton as Roy Briggs, and Sarah Douglas as Dr Coral Grunwald.
And, the third and final episode features a special guest appearance from Doctor Who legend Katy Manning as Joyce, Arby’s mother.
Actor Cloud Quinn, the voice of Sky, said: “I’m really thrilled to be back. It’s such a cool storyline, I got to discover a series I never knew about, with an amazing non-binary space alien character, and everyone’s been so much fun to work with. There are some really interesting twists in volume two and we meet some fascinating new characters.
“I love how Sky is very different from humans – they can produce anything from their fingertips, but they can still be stumped by the most basic human interaction! But they’re gradually understanding humans more, peppering in little idioms that they’re picking up, and showing more signs of developing deeper care, particularly for Arby and Bex.”
Edwin Flay, who plays Arby Vennor, added: “To find that we’re back for a second volume was thrilling. It’s lovely to be back in the room with everyone. The places that these stories go, I would never have guessed. The level of imagination and creativity is terrific.
“Arby was such a damaged and broken figure in the first box set and it’s a pleasure to see him just finding his feet and his humanity again. And the connection between Arby and Sky is very touching in its way. There’s a lot of richness to explore there.”
Big Finish listeners can save money by purchasing Into the Chaos in a multibuy download bundle with the previous volume of Sky, August 2025’s Before the Chaos, for just £38, exclusively here.
All the above prices (including pre-order and multibuy bundle discounts) are fixed for a limited time only and guaranteed no later than 31 July 2026.
