For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

In 1975, the alien Sky arrived on Earth and befriended a group of children. In 2025, he returned. And now, in 2026, the planet is in dire trouble.

As a result of Sky’s presence, the Earth has been covered in a calyx, a deadly web of foliage which blocks out the sun. It’s up to the unearthly traveller and his friends to save the planet – but they might need the help of Sky’s own people.

The audio drama series Sky is a revival of the 1975 ITV children’s programme of the same name, which was created by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. It returns in June for a second volume, Into the Chaos, once again starring Cloud Quinn as Sky and Edwin Flay as Arby Venour.

These three full-cast adventures also feature Jessica Hayles as Bex Briggs, Samuel Morgan-Davies as Kyle Brannock, and Conrad Westmaas as Jack Diver, as well as new regular cast members Helen Bang as Jane Briggs and Caitlin Griffiths as Cerys Morgan. There are also guest appearances from Katy Manning (Doctor Who), Marcus Hutton (Brookside), and Sarah Douglas (Superman).

Sky: Into the Chaos is now available to pre-order as a digital download to own for just £19.99, exclusively here

The three episodes, all written by Gary Hopkins, are:

The Confluence

Arby and Jack are lost in the Juganet.  Bex and Kyle take Sky to meet an old friend. Jane Briggs and her grief counsellor go through many weeks of sessions about Roy’s death until the Juganet reunites them with the others but six months in Jane’s future. But is everything, and everyone, quite what they seem?

The Place of Darkness

Another trip through the Juganet sees the Briggs family forced to confront their past while Arby and Cerys confront a twisted future.  Who or what is the Skygod, and why does it demand tribune? And what is Kyle Brannock wearing on his head?

This Far and No Further

The Calyx has almost destroyed Earth and Sky is forced to do the one thing he dreads – he brings his own people to the planet to ask for help.  But the Travellers have helped Earth in the past and are not very inclined to give this failed world yet another chance.

Producer and director Gary Russell said: “In Before the Chaos, we saw Sky return to Earth and try to be a hero by confronting Goodchild one last time. But that left our world in peril as nature proved stronger than nurture and planet Earth’s vegetation fought back. And won.

“In Into the Chaos, all written by Gary Hopkins and directed by me, we get an opportunity to see others from Sky’s race, the Travellers, and find out whether they are as willing to help save the planet as Sky was. Arby and Rebecca have a family reunion they were never expecting and see a side of Sky even they never imagined possible – and realise just how chained Sky can be by their own innate morality.

“Our returning cast are joined this time around by Helen Bang, Marcus Hutton and Caitlin Griffiths along with special guests Sarah Douglas and Katy Manning. But it's important to remember that in the world of Sky, no one is quite who or what they may have originally seemed and Chaos takes many forms...”
