For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

In the sixth episode of the serialised full-cast audio drama Sherlock Holmes Untold, Holmes (Nicholas Briggs) and his old friend Watson (Richard Earl) take a trip together to the coastal town of Starningham, Norfolk.

It’s an opportunity to unwind, away from the bustle and crime of the big city – at least, until a stroll by the sea is interrupted by the arrival of a distressed man, the archaeologist Charles Godber (Ben Porter).

Even on holiday, Holmes can’t resist a good mystery – especially one that connects to an old enemy!

Sherlock Holmes Untold is now available to purchase for just £24.99, exclusively hereThis purchase will grant you access to all eight weekly episode downloads, as well as the complete serial as a box set download to own once all episodes have been released.

The Adventure of the Body in the Barrow

1901. A picturesque town on the English coast. Holmes and Watson are taking a much-needed holiday, only to encounter, in this most unlikely of spots, a resurgence of an old acquaintance and the return of a name from the past, the sinister organisation known as the Lighthouse.

Sherlock Holmes Untold: The Adventure of the Body in the Barrow guest stars Ben Porter as Charles Godber, Aurora Dawson-Hunte as Emily, Robert Whitelock as Kingsley, Christopher Naylor as Jasper Cranfield, and Luke Barton as Rosborough.

Actor Richard Earl said: “Watson suggests that Holmes and Watson go for a little break by the coast. And to Watson’s surprise, Sherlock says yes. It’s like best mates going for a break. It’s going to be just like old times. But then of course, whenever one sees a mysterious stranger running in the direction of Sherlock Holmes, you think, oh well, here’s the next one!”

Writer Jonathan Barnes said: “We’re approaching the end game at this point! This is set quite late in the Holmes and Watson chronology, when Holmes really is starting to consider retirement. The Norfolk coast is a great fit for Holmes at this time. A little wild and a long way from London. I’m from Norfolk, and I’m drawn back there again and again.

“Doyle as Watson makes a reference to the contents of the English barrow, a little tip-off which led me to come up with this. It’s a story at the end of the day about frailty, people making mistakes, and how those frailties could be exploited.”

There will be an ‘after show’ discussion for this episode in this week’s edition of the Big Finish Podcast, due to be released on Friday, with producer and presenter Iain Meadows joined by special guests Jonathan Barnes, Nicholas Briggs and Richard Earl, as well as Laura Sparks and Mark Jones from the Sherlock Holmes Society of London.

Next week on Sherlock Holmes Untold, the world stands on the brink, but there is one more account to be revealed, as the two-part finale begins, with The Adventure of the Politician, the Lighthouse and the Trained Cormorant, Part One.

Sherlock Holmes Untold is now available to purchase for just £24.99 as a series of digital downloads to own, released weekly exclusively from www.bigfinish.com.

All the above prices (including pre-order and multibuy bundle discounts) are fixed for a limited time only and guaranteed no later than 31 January 2026.
