In the 1971 Doctor Who TV serial The Claws of Axos, the Doctor and the Master had to work together to stop the eponymous parasitic entity from taking over the world. They succeeded – trapping it in a time loop – but, as the Master knows, no good villain stays down for long. 

Now Axos is back to cause more trouble. But this time it’s facing Eric Roberts’ incarnation of the Master, and the rival he reluctantly teams up with is the roguish bounty hunter, Vienna Salvatori, played by Chase Masterson. 

Vienna’s still after the bounty on the Master’s head, but the unstoppable Axos poses a greater threat. And then there’s the matter of the Axon that looks rather like a shiny, gold Eighth Doctor – voiced by guest star Paul McGann.
