For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

This week we've announced details on one of Big Finish's biggest productions to date – The Prisoner.

This all new recreation of the television classic (recently voted as one of the top ten greatest ITV programmes of all time – alongside The Avengers), The Prisoner: Volume 1 by Nicholas Briggs follows a British secret agent, who after resigning finds himself with an imposed identity - “Number Six” - and that he's now imprisoned in ‘The Village’ - a bizarre community with a cheery veneer, but an underbelly of mystery and threat.

The authorities running this Village are intent on discovering why Number Six resigned – but it's a secret he steadfastly refuses to divulge. As the drama unfolds, the authorities, in the guise of the sinister Number Two, try ever more ingenious and aggressive means to bend Number Six to their will. All the while, Number Six is intent on two aims: to escape and to find out ‘Who is Number One?’.

More information will be coming soon – by hook or by crook! In the meantime, listen to our fabulous new teaser trailer below.

But this isn't the only returning franchise we've celebrated this week – Pathfinder Legends has made its long awaited-return, with the first of six new adventures for Valeros, Ezren, Harsk and Merisiel. Pathfinder Legends – Mummy's Mask: The Half-Dead City sees the group venture into the ancient city of Wati, in search of long lost treasure. But a far more terrifying presence is buried under the sands...

This double-disc adventure by Cavan Scott is available to buy and download today. Check out the trailer on the product page now.

And the Pathfinders aren't the only crew off on an expedition, as Derek Jacobi and Hayley Atwell will lead a group of scientists to Mars in our newly-announced audio book The Martian Chronicles. Produced by B7 Media and based on the books by Ray Bradbury, this acclaimed adaptation was originally transmitted on BBC Radio 4, and is being made available to own for the first time in December.

When the first expedition to Mars mysteriously disappears, Earth sends a second to find out what happened. But the real mission is classified. And only Captain Wilder knows the truth.

Spender, an anthropologist on Wilder’s crew, attempts to prevent the colonisation that she believes will eradicate the last of an ancient people living on Mars. But to what lengths will she go?

As the honourable but duty-bound Captain Wilder tracks the now rogue Spender into the Martian mountains, the future of this ancient planet is at stake.

Meanwhile, Earth itself teeters on the brink of its own global catastrophe as the very survival of humanity hangs in the balance.

The adaptation recently won the Silver Award for Best Drama Special at the 2015 New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards. Alistair Lock was also nominated for Best Sound Designer at the 2014 Radio Production Awards. You can pre-order The Martian Chronicles today from the Big Finish website.
