The cult adult sci-fi series, created by former Doctor Who Executive Producer Russell T Davies, featured Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) investigating and battling aliens in the heart of Cardiff and beyond, alongside his fellow Torchwood agents. The series will continue this year in the first of six new audio dramas from Big Finish.

Yesterday, series producer James Goss and director Scott Handcock visited StarFury's Miracle Day 2 event and were delighted by the warm reception they received – from both fans, and the cast of the original series!

'It was great to chat with Torchwood fans about what we're planning, and to finally meet the legend that is John Barrowman!' said Scott Handcock, 'We're going to have great fun working together!'

'The reception from fans was really lovely.' added James Goss. 'It was even lovelier to get to tell them nothing. But all that will change very soon...'

John Barrowman announced the new series on his Magic FM radio show last week, hours after recording the series' debut instalment The Conspiracy. The resulting surge of interest and social media coverage briefly brought the Big Finish website to its knees.

Torchwood: The Conspiracy is released in September, and will be followed by five further stories starting in January 2016. The entire range can be subscribed to today, allowing for special savings against buying the release individually.
