Deferment of Exchange Rate Changes for Downloads

Over the past twelve months, British companies have witnessed huge upheavals, both due to the uncertainty around Brexit and of course the Covid-19 pandemic. Big Finish is no exception. It has been a tumultuous time for everyone in the arts, but we are proud to have been able to continue to produce and release our audio drama stories in the face of such adversity. This is entirely thanks to our brilliant creative team, who have responded by adopting new production techniques and revised range formats.

However, production and distribution costs continue to rise, and the disparity between the sales of collector's edition releases (CDs) and digital (downloads) is ever more obvious. We had originally scheduled a review of international pricing for our releases at the end of October 2019 but the impact of world events has led to that decision being repeatedly postponed.

While the intention still remains to ultimately amend the price of downloads in non-UK territories to a rate based on local currency exchange rates for sterling, we believe that now is not the time for such a change. This will be reviewed again in the Summer of 2021, but for the time being any changes to the existing pricing structure are on hiatus until a clearer picture emerges.
