Love and War first saw the light of day in the Nineties as one of the earliest releases in the Virgin Doctor Who New Adventures book range, written by Paul Cornell and introducing the character of Professor Bernice Summerfield, archaeologist extraordinaire.

Twenty years later and Bernice's exploits have taken her to many new realms and strange adventures in books and on audio. To celebrate the character, Jacqueline Rayner has adapted Love and War for audio and it will be released as a full cast drama on two discs in October, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor, Sophie Aldred as Ace and, as ever, Lisa Bowerman as Bernice.
