For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

The trilogy begins in July with Persuasion, which is written by Jonathan Barnes, author of novels The Somnambulist and The Domino Men, and writer of The Adventure of the Perfidious Mariner for Big Finish’s Sherlock Holmes range.

It finds the Doctor co-opting UNIT scientific advisor Dr Elizabeth Klein in his search for a Nazi scientist who possesses the key to a highly secret alien technology. What he doesn't realise is that Klein's eager young assistant Will Arrowsmith will be coming along for the ride...

Christian Edwards joins the TARDIS crew as Will, while Miranda Raison (Spooks, Doctor Who: Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks, BF's The Wreck of the Titan) plays the mysterious Shepherdess.

August brings Starlight Robbery by Matt Fitton, whose previous Big Finish work includes Black and White, The Wrong Doctors and Return of the Rocket Men. It takes the TARDIS team to an intergalactic arms auction convened by the rogue broker Garundel (returning from Black and White) – whose other guests include a platoon of Sontarans.

Stuart Milligan (Jonathan Creek, Doctor Who: The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon) again plays Garundel, while the brilliantly versatile Dan Starkey (Strax in Doctor Who) plays not just one but the whole army of Sontarans!

Klein and Will's sabbatical from UNIT concludes in Daleks Among Us by Alan Barnes in September, as the Doctor and his friends encounter a mysterious Dalek-hunter who's convinced that the peaceful planet Azimuth hides a lost Dalek army… Nicholas Briggs fires up his ring modulator and provides the Dalek voices once more.

Big Finish has also revealed more titles in the final series of its Companion Chronicles range, which comprise enhanced audiobooks performed by the Doctor’s friends. July will be Mastermind by Jonathan Morris, which sees the return of Daphne Ashbook and Yee Jee Tso as Ruth Matheson and Charlie Sato from the hugely popular Chronicle Tales from the Vault. This time they have a dangerous enemy on their hands – the Master (Geoffrey Beevers) is in the UNIT vault, and he has a story to tell…

August sees the release of the delayed The Alchemists, starring Carole Ann Ford as Susan. It swaps places with the originally planned William Russell-starring The Library of Alexandria by Simon Guerrier, in which the original TARDIS crew take a journey back into Earth’s history. That release is now due next month.

September’s release is Upstairs by Mat Coward, which is performed by Maureen O’Brien as Vicki, supported by Peter Purves as Steven. It finds the First Doctor and his companions landing in the dilapidated loft of a well-known building, where an alien force is secretly at work…

Katy Manning is back as Jo Grant in October for Ghost in the Machine by Jonathan Morris, which is directed by none other than Louise Jameson – Leela herself!

“As well as having a huge profile in front of the camera, Lou is a writer and director in her own right,” says producer David Richardson. “I was delighted to offer her a chance to direct her first Doctor Who, and she’s done a lovely job on a very scary tale that should send some shivers down the spines of our listeners…”
