Big Finish Productions is pleased to reveal casting details for the first five episodes of The Confessions of Dorian Gray. Joining Alexander Vlahos across the series are Marilyn Le Conte, Lorna Rose Harris, Wilf Scolding, Hugh Skinner, David Blackwell, Sophie Melville and Alexander Griffin-Griffiths.
Renowned Welsh actor Steffan Rhodri appears in the opening instalment as the legendary Oscar Wilde, whilst Doctor Who's Katy Manning features as the enigmatic Isadora Rigby in the series' third episode, The Twittering of Sparrows, written by Gary Russell.
'This whole series has had a production base in Cardiff,' says producer Scott Handcock, 'and it's been a delight to involve a wealth of local talent - the brilliant Steffan Rhodri, some up-and-coming young actors making their audio debut - and Alex himself, of course!'
'We were also able to reunite Alex with Katy Manning, both of whom had worked together previously on Gallifrey IV. I always knew what stories I wanted to tell in the series, and the characters we'd feature, and Katy was the only person for the part! I was thrilled when she agreed to come to Cardiff for this one!'
Details for a special festive release are set to be announced later in the month. Meanwhile, the first five episodes of The Confessions of Dorian Gray are available to pre-order now.
