For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.
The saga of the Chenka sisters comes to an end today, as The Robots reaches its conclusion in a brand-new full-cast audio drama box set.
In October 2018, Big Finish released The Eighth Doctor Adventures – Ravenous 2 box set, and at the end of its first story, Escape from Kaldor, companion Liv Chenka (Nicola Walker) left the Doctor (Paul McGann) and the TARDIS behind for a year.
We know what happens right at the end of that year, and now we’re going to hear more of the events leading up to it.
The three stories completing the series are:
Force Of Nature by Helen Goldwyn
A month after Tula’s enhancement chip was compromised, she and Liv join a compulsory ‘Recovery Training Course’ to help rehabilitate those infected. But they soon become embroiled in the tensions between the course participants and a very human-like SuperVoc – seemingly with its own agenda...
Face To Face by John Dorney
When Tula wakes to find some strangely familiar faces in her living room, a battle of wills breaks out. Not everyone can leave... but will they let the right one out?
The Final Hour by Matt Fitton
Liv Chenka’s time on Kaldor is almost at an end. The Company seems more powerful than ever. There’s unrest on the streets, the people are scared. And Tula is in trouble with her boss...
But there are those who stand against the Company. Those with a new vision of the future for Kaldor and its Robots. An intricate plan is in motion – the Chenka sisters are about to spend their final hour on the planet.
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com, Nicola Walker said: “As ever with Doctor Who, there are scripts about robots, but of course they're scripts about human relationships. At the heart of it is the breakdown Liv and Tula had after their father died and how they responded to his death in very different ways, like you do when you grieve.”
Claire Rushbrook added: “It's got all of the thrill and danger and excitement that you'd expect, but it's a continued exploration of their relationship. It's beautifully, subtly written, but absolutely to the point. They're very good scripts.”
