Picking up from the events of Miracle Day, the second installment of Torchwood Aliens Among Us is released today.
Torchwood Series Five, Aliens Among Us Part 2 finds the new team fully assembled, with Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper joined by Mr Colchester – the devil in a cardigan, and Orr – the shapeshifting alien whose form depends on others’ desires. Tyler Steele will also be stepping in from the Mayor’s office, although no-one is sure whose side he is on…
In these four new adventures, we delve deeper into the dynamics of the team and welcome the return of an old enemy of Torchwood, Bilis Manger (first seen on TV in Captain Jack Harkness at the end of Torchwood Series 1).

Captain Jack Harkness is dead, and that’s the simplest thing that’s happened to him in the last few days. Even the manner of his death is surprisingly complex, especially when it turns out that he hasn’t come back alone. While Torchwood try and cope with a new mayor and a terrorist cell, they also have to deal with what, at first, looks to be a plague, and then turns out to be something far, far worse.

An innocent refugee has been shot point-blank on the streets of Cardiff. It causes an upsurge in terrorist attacks. An innocent refugee has been shot point-blank on the streets of Cardiff by a policeman. It’s a catalyst for protests in the streets. An innocent refugee has been shot point-blank on the streets of Cardiff by Sergeant Andy Davidson. It’s the end of Torchwood as we know it.
“We’ve four great stories by writers new to Big Finish,” explains producer James Goss. “Having established in the first boxset that Cardiff has been infiltrated by aliens, we start to see how Torchwood will fight back. We’ve been delighted by the response to the first boxset – not only the great reviews, but also the fan art and slashfic! It’s as it should be.”
“We’ll see Captain Jack’s (John Barrowman) sex life come back to bite him, Andy Davidson (Tom Price) gets put through the ringer, and we’ll discover even more horrid details about what’s happening to Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles). We get to meet the husband of Mr Colchester (Paul Clayton), the long-suffering Colin (Ramon Tikaram). Also, Torchwood’s great super villain Bilis Manger (Murray Melvin) is back. And with him around, things are only going to get worse.”
The final chapter of this explosive series is due for release in February 2018, where it will be make or break for the future of Cardiff. Further details will be announced in the coming months, so make sure you check the Big Finish website, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
