For The Love Of StoriesBig Finish produce fantastic full-cast audio dramas for CD and download.

Michael Troughton, son of Patrick Troughton and the new voice of the Second Doctor, brilliantly performs the 1960s audio novel, written by prolific sci-fi author, Kate Orman.

It's 1968, and the Earth has one month to live. The Doctor, Ben, and Polly race to escape a frightening lifeless London. But as the city folds in on itself, it is a warning of a far greater danger. Someone has misused terrifyingly advanced technology to make Earth the target of a primordial black hole - a tiny, invisible world-killer. Struggling to avert the catastrophe, the Doctor must send his companions on dangerous undercover missions.

Can the Doctor and his friends prevent the planet Earth from being erased from space and time?

Doctor Who – The Audio Novels: The Dead Star, featuring specially composed music and sound effects, is now available to own for just £17.99 (as a download only), exclusively here.

Michael Troughton said: “The Dead Star was a delight to narrate. Kate Orman effortlessly transported me back to vivid images of my father as Doctor Who and visits to the BBC studio sets, with familiar TARDIS companions and colourful, creative characters, both good and evil. A wonderful story that uses scientific facts, brilliant sixties imagery and grips you until the last page.”

Writer Kate Orman added: “The Dead Star is my first Doctor Who novel in nearly 20 years – I'm over the moon! I had an absolute blast writing for the Second Doctor, Ben and Polly. There’s so much going on with Patrick Troughton’s Doctor; he’s brilliant, childish, affectionate and distant. “I was especially interested in writing about Ben and Polly. I think they reflect a turning point in the show where instead of only distant historical times and alien worlds, the time and space that the TV viewers lived in became an important part of Doctor Who.”

Script Editor Roland Moore said: “It was an absolute thrill to work with Kate, she’s fabulous and it’s great to have her back at Big Finish. You can tell from the writing that she really enjoyed writing it. It really feels like a 1960s Doctor Who but with a budget way beyond what they could’ve done.”

Big Finish listeners can also save money by purchasing all six titles in the Doctor Who – The Audio Novels range together as a bundle for just £99.

All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.
