This week had a new short trip, short stories with Bernice Summerfield, four stories for the Survivors (and the future of the series), plus we're already looking ahead with our first boxset announced out in 2020! Don't miss out on any of the news in the Big Finish roundup.
The Death may have not taken everyone, but the end is in sight for the Survivors… We confirmed on Monday that the ongoing audio story following on from the television series of Survivors wraps up with series nine. Happily this isn’t the end of the stories from the world of Survivors, but the current ongoing narrative will be wrapped up June 2019. With Abby possibly meeting Peter in series eight, who knows what will happen next?
Four struggles for the survivors of the Death will be released in June 2019:
9.1 – The Farm by Jane Slavin
9.2 – Hearts and Mines by Christopher Hatherall
9.3 – Fade Out by Roland Smith
9.4 – Conflict by Andrew Smith
Eight new short stories from the varied and adventurous timeline of Bernice Summerfield came out on Wednesday with Bernice Summerfield – In Time. Will Benny still be digging for artefacts at 80? You bet she will!
From a rocky start at military academy to her sudden immersion in an alternative universe via a variety of jobs and adventures on Dellah, at the Braxiatel Collection, and in the murky world of Legion – Bernice Summerfield is a woman who can be said to have lived more than one life.
But one thing's for certain: wherever she is, Benny can always be counted on to right wrongs, get the job done and, sometimes, even have a good time along the way!
The rambunctious, deadly and ever-so charming Captain John played by James Marsters will be back at the helm in a new four-story box set, The Sins of Captain John, created by Big Finish Productions in association with BBC Studios, as announced on Thursday.
Set for release in January 2020, The Sins of Captain John will see Captain John Hart leading the universe into rack and ruin in four new adventures…

In these stories we’ll find the villainous anti-hero thriving in Restoration London, exploring gas planets, playing ‘Stepford wife' and kissing (then killing) countless victims… Just a day in the life of a rogue Time Agent!
Mel and the Seventh Doctor turned detective on Friday in a Victorian mystery – with a Doctor Who twist of course! Doctor Who – The Devil’s Footprints read by Bonnie Langford, is available at £2.99 on download (only) from Big Finish.
The Doctor's old friend, the reverend HT Ellacombe, has been out of touch for too long. But when the Doctor goes to find him, he and Mel discover something else entirely: unidentifiable footprints in the snow around the Victorian village where he lives.
The villagers are terrified that the very Devil walks their lands in the wintry nights, but with the Doctor distracted by finding his friend, it seems it’s up to Mel to do the snooping around in attempt to uncover the truth...
