The Big Finish Roundup

19 November 2017

What a week! 99p Doctor Who stories, Abominable Snowmen and reunited lovers. Find out all that’s going on in this week’s roundup.

At the time of writing we have special offers on 99 tales for 99p. For the next five weeks you’ll be able to get 99 different adventures from the worlds of Doctor Who for only 99p per download. To access go to page https://www.bigfinish.com/99for99 and use password "redballoons" (get it?).

Monday saw the announcement of an exciting tale in the Dark Shadows range. Maggie & Quentin: The Lovers’ Refrain brings two popular characters together for this new collection of tales. Out in June 2018, Maggie & Quentin: The Lovers’ Refrain brings Quentin Collins, played by David Selby, together with Maggie Evans, played by Kathryn Leigh Scott.

On Tuesday we looked at series two of The New Counter-Measures team, who face off against the Great Intelligence next month – and another terrifying foe joins as the Abominable Snowmen return to threaten London in the series two’s finale.

The latest tale in the Doctor Who Main Range came out Wednesday. Colin Baker, Lisa Greenwood and Miranda Raison are in ‘The Middle’ of their trilogy of adventures, while the Sixth Doctor continues his travels with Flip and Constance in The Middle.

It’s L/Wren Mrs Constance Clarke’s birthday – and Flip is determined to make it an anniversary to remember.

The futuristic colony of Formicia, where the pampered populace pass their days in endless leisure, seems the perfect place for a ‘Wren Party’. But all is not as it seems. Looking down from the Middle, the skyscraping tower that ascends as far as the colony ceiling, Formicia’soverseers can see that the Doctor doesn’t fit in – and it’s not just his coat that makes him conspicuous...

‘The End is the Beginning’, say the propaganda-like posters all over Formicia. Because to be part of this perfect society comes at a price. And the Doctor's already in arrears.

On Thursday we went from underground escapades to mysteries in the past in another adventure for the Second Doctor, Polly, Ben and Jamie with Doctor Who – The Morton Legacy. We went back in time in The Early Adventures' new story starring Anneke Wills, Frazer Hines and Elliot Chapman.

Saturday saw the announcement that Narvin, from Gallifrey fame, will be coming to Doctor Who Short Trips next year, and there were a bunch of exciting announcements for the Short Trips range.

For podcast fans, Toby Hadoke chatted to someone whose work stretches from your favourite Pertwee and Baker stories, to everyone's favourite plasticine partnership. Nick and Benji interview Nigel Planer and there’s an audio tease of The Ingenious Gentleman Adric of Alzarius.

And that’s the Big Finish week! Make sure you follow our social channels: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for all the latest news.
